I am hooked on CSI on TV and when I saw they had the PC games for Miami, NY, and LasVegas, I just couldn't resist trying them...glad I didn't. They are a lot of fun and keep me glued to the case until I get it solved, then I can't wait to move on to the next case. Plus, since Grissom is no longer on the TV show, I can still work with him on the games..He is there! Love them and hope they develop more games from these TV shows...I JUST LOVE THEM!

I'm a 16 year-old aspiring nurse, and I got this game because I wanted to learn more about medicine. As other people have stated, this is *not* a game that you can just start playing and be good at, unless you work in healthcare or know a good deal about it. pSome problems that I have with the game:br- Occasionally a "patient" will come in with an injury in one of their extremities, let's say a badly scraped knee. When you get into the exam room, you can't immediately tell which knee it is, and sometimes they don't tell you. Because you lose points for performing unnecessary procedures, you are occasionally robbed of points because you check a normal body part first.br-Sometimes the CME (Continuing Medical Education) computer gives you bad advice. They tell you that most doctors will perform a certain kind of test, but if YOU perform that test, the game tells you that it was unnecessary.pOther than that, it's a pretty good game. When you do well in the exam room, the nurse flirts with you, which irritates me a bit because it means that the maker is assuming that all the players are guys, but other than that, it's fun.pThere are plenty of resources in the game to help you, so you don't need to be a medical expert to play - just be prepared to put a little time and effort into learning. This is an excellent game for people who are thinking about going into healthcare. Because you can select patients either randomly or by ailment, it's also a good way to study. A very different game, it's pretty entertaning but it can get quite boring when you've already treated the baby that hit her head on a sprinkler a million times. Dr. D. Boss seems like a normal boss, a little nicer than some. p I don't know what her name is, but there is this nurse that flirts with you every chance she gets...which is quite comical. brDon't order unessacary procedures and tests, or else it will come back to bite you in the end.brThe graphics leave something to be desired, and it's kind of annoying when you treat this one brunette, 16 year old and once you get done treating her, you go back to the waiting room to select a new patient and she's there again!pThe same use of charecters makes you feel like you never treated that person at all. pIt can get a little boring and the patients can get rude, but if you play it in moderation, it will be okay.brGood luck to the new Dr. Carter's!

I love to cook, so I found this game to be very entertaining. I've had some minor problems with the game, but I think they have less to do with the game itself than with my own manual dexterity and my computer's processing speed. br /br /For example, there's a section of the game where you have to have to flip shishkebabs on a grill very quickly. There's a time limit. You're really supposed to flip three at a time. I can only manage to do two at a time without "burning" them. If you burn them they don't count towards your score, so I'm never able to do it fast enough to be able to successfully go to the next level of the game. I'm neurologically handicapped, so my visual acuity, and my own "processing speed", isn't the best, and I have a five year old computer, so that's probably an issue as well.br /br /However, I still give this game very high marks, and I think anyone who likes to cook, or who wants to learn how, will really enjoy it.

Wow! The "product description" is a little misleading. The graphics are still shots. Multiple stores are just a number. Nothing you do in the game will have much effect on the play. The playing of the game is: listen to jazz (nice), make meaningless service choices, enjoy your logo choice view from the picture window (which will change if you're in a different city...then never change again! Oh, wait, there is rain and snow). If that is worth the money to you....enjoy.

This game is a little quirky, as someone pointed out, but it was created by a German software company, so it's not going to be perfectly "intuitive" for an American mind. In general, the Germans have a different mindset than the typical American. Case in point: the HVAC controls in a Mercedes-Benz. I am a fairly logical person, but it still took me a while to get a handle on which control did what on an old 190 I had a few years ago.pThat said, I have not stopped playing this game for a year. I wish for a less grid-like field of play (a downer on most simulations, I think you'll agree), but the game has a lot of bright points, and the play is engaging for a mind that's interested in production analysis and efficiency optiimization. pThe graphic representation of the playing world is excellent - bodies of water vary in color (by depth), wildlife, and human vessels (although they are not exactly to scale). You can turn the clouds and their shadows on or off. Cities grow and metamorphasize over time. There are numerous kinds of trees and terrain in any one scenario.pThere are a good number of vehicles available in each of four transport choices: truck, rail, ship, or air, and each has its own cost and benefit makeup. Upon its introduction to the scenario, each vehicle stars in its own animated sequence; the animations are well-done, and the vehicles seem very true to their prototypes in the animations.pThere are also something like 100 different products available to manufacture, ship, and sell. You have to build the supply chain to support the creation of each type of product. Most follow this model: raw materials to a mill for processing into useable supplies, to a manufacturing facility that transforms these into final goods, to a retail store to be sold to the end user.pYou control all the factors of production from gathering the raw materials to the finished product. You have to manage the level of production and set labor rates at each step in the process. You have to maximize your profits by managing the sell prices of your goods in each store, and keep an eye on which products are seasonal in demand - it varies by quarter.pOverall, this is an excellent offering, especially for the price asked here on Amazon. I am rating it 5 stars because I am still playing it after a year, and not many sims can make that claim in my house. Check out the Gold edition also available here - it includes the upgrade pack with more missions (hopefully harder ones, since I agree that the missions tend to be easy to accomplish), vehicles, etc, which I need to get myself! This is one of the best military strategy games I've played. I rarely get out of first person shooters, but this is one that had me glued to it. While there are some elements that are not realistic (bridges re appearing, units getting stuck, etc.), the game itself makes up for that more than enough.br /br /Being able to take modern military technologies and apply them to an advanced enemy is very entertaining, and leaves the player with an outstanding knowledge of the capabilities of the U.S. Military.

After finding that I couldn't use my disc for Cake Mania on my new Windows 7 laptop, I decided to see what the newest product was for Cake Mania. I chose to use the Amazon Download, and I LOVE IT!br /br /I was instantly addicted, especially since if I get mad in one area of the game (for example, the customers made me mad in the cake area), then I can exit that and go to the Burger Barn or the Flower Shop! I enjoyed seeing the different areas pop up and expanding them as I could in the town.br /br /I do recommend a wireless mouse for this game if you use a laptop, because it was impossible for me to keep up with the customers without it.

Fun, but defective - AJ - Las Vegas, NV USA
I was really enjoying this Cake Mania, being a fan of all the Cake Mania games. I was moving along and found that this particular one was very challenging. However, when I get to a very difficult level and I would finally reach the goal to move on to the next level, the game would say I failed when I clearly reached the goal!! How frustrating is that? It would take me forever to pass the level and when I finally did, the game still said I could not go on. I purchased this as a download directly to my computer and I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem or if it is just the one I downloaded. It's definitely a fun game, if it would only work correctly!
